How to Choose Cabinet Handle Sizes for Your Product Line

4 min read

Handle sizing is measured centre-to-centre between fixing holes. Matching that dimension to the door or drawer width is what separates a professional result from an amateur one.

What “centre distance” means

The size quoted for a bar handle — 128mm, 160mm, 320mm and so on — is the centre-to-centre distance between its two fixing holes, not the overall length. This is the dimension that must match the pre-drilled holes in a door or drawer front.

Our standard aluminium range covers 128, 160, 192, 224, 256, 288 and 320mm, while the extended range continues to 512, 800, 900 and 1000mm for large formats.

Matching handle length to furniture width

As a rule of thumb, use larger centre distances on wider drawers and taller doors so the hardware stays visually proportional. Narrow wall units suit 128–160mm pulls; wide pan drawers and tall larder doors carry 320mm and above with ease.

For a coordinated look across a kitchen, keep the profile identical and vary only the length by unit size.
