OEM & ODM Furniture Hardware Manufacturing Explained
OEM and ODM are the two routes to custom furniture hardware. Knowing the difference helps buyers brief a manufacturer accurately and shorten lead times.
OEM: your design, our production
Under an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) arrangement, the buyer supplies the design — typically CAD drawings or a technical specification — and the manufacturer produces it. This is the route for brands that have their own hardware designs and simply need reliable, quality-controlled production.
ODM: our design, your brand
Under an ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) arrangement, the buyer selects from the manufacturer’s existing designs — such as our Prestij catalogue — and may request finish, size or packaging changes under their own brand. This is faster and lower-risk for buyers who do not need bespoke tooling.
What to prepare before requesting a quote
To receive an accurate quote quickly, prepare: the model or drawing, required sizes, target finishes, estimated annual volumes and your destination market. With this information Eagles Furniture Equipments can confirm feasibility, MOQ and lead time — typically 15–25 business days for production.
